After hanging up the call, Ruan Zhiyin glimpsed at the red notification mark on the WeChat icon. She could not ignore it and hence opened the app.

As she scrolled down, there were dozens of people contacting her.

Almost all of them were offering words of condolences that were half-true, half-fake after they had seen the trending topics. She could already tell that the wedding had already become their topic of conversation.
