It was already late and after sending the message, Ruan Zhiyin waited for twenty minutes but she did not receive a response from Gu Linlang or Ye Yanchu.

Holding her phone carelessly in her hands she flopped back onto the bed. Before long, her eyelids grew heavy, and she fell into a deep sleep.

The next morning, Ruan Zhiyin woke up very early.

Now that she had calmed down, she could only admit that she was truly attracted to Cheng Yuelin, but she was also determined to restrain herself. At least before getting his permission, she will not do anything that would cross the line again.

Thinking about his drunken state from the night before, Ruan Zhiyin washed up and headed downstairs. She took out some kumquats from the fridge and made him a bowl of hangover soup.

When she came out of the kitchen, she saw Cheng Yuelin wearing T-shirt and sweatpants slowly walking down from the second floor.

The man seemed to have just taken a shower and his short hair was simply pushed to the side and was still damp. It glistened in the morning sunlight. When he wasn’t wearing his normal suit, the coldness around him seemed to reduce and give him a more youthful air.

When her gaze landed onto his handsome face Ruan Zhiyin’s heart flickered with guilt for a moment.

When he approached, she pursed her lips and said, “I made you some hangover soup. Drink it first.”

Cheng Yuelin nodded his head and picked up the bowl and drank it in one go. He carefully asked, “I was rather drunk last night. Did I give you any trouble?”

The man lowered his eyes without much expression as though he was just asking a casual question.

Ruan Zhiyin felt a flash of guilt before quickly saying, “No.”

Cheng Yuelin, hummed in response and placed the bowl down.

He leaned back against his chair and looked at her before speaking softly. “Then I did not do anything, right?”

“You were drunk, so what could you have done?”

Thinking about his drunk eyes looking at her last night, Ruan Zhiyin couldn’t help but smile.

Cheng Yuelin raised a brow and looked at her with a probing gaze. “Why do you seem disappointed?”

Ruan Zhiyin paused and lowered her eyes. “What do I have to be disappointed about…”

She quietly placed the breakfast onto the table. It was a simple meal of toast, eggs, and millet porridge.

Cheng Yuelin’s eyes turned slightly before he pulled his gaze back and picked up the porridge that she had placed in front of him and did not ask any more questions.

The two of them ate their breakfast silently and the dining area became quiet.

Possibly due to her guilt from her actions yesterday, Ruan Zhiyin ate her breakfast extremely slowly.

After Cheng Yuelin finished his breakfast, he reached out to pick up a napkin and slowly wipe his mouth. After a while, he opened his mouth and said, “Oh right, I forgot to tell you, but I have installed a camera in the master bedroom.”

When he finished speaking, Ruan Zhiyin was frozen with a piece of toast in her hands. She looked at him and asked, “You’ve installed a camera and didn’t tell me?”

If he installed a camera in the master bedroom, did he wake up and watch the video from last night? Even though strictly speaking, she did not do anything, but with Cheng Yuelin’s picky nature, if he found out what happened, he might demand compensation for what happened last night.

The man’s inky black eyes looked over at her.

Cheng Yuelin looked at her for a bit longer, before he decided to give up on this topic. He shook his head and laughed. “Haha, I’m just kidding. There is no camera in my room.”

Ruan Zhiyin: “…”

So close. He almost swindled it out of her.

“Oh ya, I bought a coat for you yesterday.” Ruan Zhiyin smoothly changed the topic. I’m not sure of your size, so I took a guess. Go try it, if it doesn’t fit, I’ll go exchange it in the afternoon.

She had asked Gu Linlang and Ye Yanchu to meet her at a Cafe near the Lingxin Plaza, so she could exchange it if she needed to.

Cheng Yuelin looked at the shopping bags in the living room and raised a brow before looking at her. “You don’t know what size I wear?”

How would she know his size?

Ruan Zhiyin raised her eyes in confusion and listened to him lazily say. “Didn’t you hug me for a long time not that long ago?”

“I…” Ruan Zhiyin felt her heart tremble while he looked at her and sighed before saying. “When?”

Last night, the suddenness of the hug made her forget her sanity, but before he gave his permission, she would strictly control herself.

As he silently gazed at her, Cheng Yuelin lifted a brow in a laugh and wagged his index finger. “Last time, when you hugged me while crying in the living room.”

Ruan Zhiyin breathed a sigh of relief and continued to think about the things he said to comfort her that day. It seems like Cheng Yuelin did not have any aversions from being close to her, so it did not seem like she did not have a chance.

Cheng Yuelin looked at her with a subtle expression and the corner of his lips lifted into a slight arc. His eyes did not reveal anything. In the next moment, he stood up and said, “Alright, I’ll go try it on.”
