Chapter 4: Outside the castle

I walk through the secret passageway.

Then take the next right And the next

I do as Garen instructed me in my previous life. Because it hasnt been used much, the hidden passage smells a little musty. I unintentionally sneeze, and the sound echoes off the walls.

I think its about time.

Im starting to see the light. I squinted at the light and kept walking. I keep walking until I reach a hilltop with a spectacular view.

Wow.

I exclaim, even though its only the second time Ive seen it. The view from here is always beautiful, no matter how many times I see it. The hilltop is brimming with beautiful flowers and fragrant scents. It was so beautiful that I couldnt believe this was a war-torn country.

I should have known better.

I completely covered my head with the cloth I had prepared earlier. I look suspicious from all sides, but I cant help it. In this world, black hair does not exist.

Down the hill is the castle townBut Im heading for the woods. My hair stands out too much in the castle town. Im sure there are claire berries in the forest that can be used as dye. Then go down to the castle town.

The wolf is staring at me, poised to strike.

I I hesitated. Even though Garen had taught me to use a sword in self-defense, Id never actually pointed it at a living thing. Garen had done all the work for me.

The wolf takes a leap.

Its going to bite me.

I cowered and closed my eyes, but the shock never came.

I wondered about it, and when I opened my eyes, the wolf had been killed. A man stood next to the wolf. He most likely killed the wolf. He, like me, had his head covered with a cloth, and while I could tell he was a man by his build, his appearance was a mystery.

The man turned away from the wolf and removed the cloth that had been covering his head.

The mans face was revealed after the cloth covering him was removed.

His hair was silver, and his eyes were rubies. Most importantly, the man has pointed ears.
